Middle School
Enrichment Scholarship
Scholarship Description:
The North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators
(NCASFAA) awards scholarships to encourage disadvantaged
middle school students to begin considering attending college
after finishing high school by providing tuition to a summer
enrichment program at a North Carolina college or university.
Each student will be matched with a mentor to assist them
with selecting a program and requesting funds from NCASFAA.
Eligibility Requirements:
Students must be at least 13 years
old at the time of application, attend middle school in North
Carolina and be able to provide
documentation of eligibility for the free or reduced lunch
program.
Application Procedure:
Applications may be downloaded from the PDF below. To be considered
all documents must be received by December 1. Finalist
will be notified by the Middle School Enrichment Scholarship
Committee by December 15. Each finalist will then be
asked to provide a letter of recommendation from his/her
guidance counselor.
Value:
There will be six scholarships awarded up to $1,000 each. Scholarship
recipients will represent the Eastern, Western, and Middle Regions
of the State (two per region). Funding may vary each year depending
on availability.
