Nomination Form

NCASFAA is seeking nominations for elected positions. NCASFAA elects positions each year for the positions of President-Elect and Vice President. Some years a Treasurer-Elect and a Secretary are elected. There are also positions elected for the NCASFAA Nominating committee from the different sectors represented by the membership. If you are nominating a colleague for any of the positions listed below for the election year noted, please obtain the permission of the nominee before submitting the nomination. You may nominate yourself and/or you may nominate more than one active member for any open position. Complete a new form for each nomination. To hold office, the person must be classified as an active member.
President-Elect: The President-Elect shall be the understudy to the President, shall serve as Parliamentarian of the Association, and shall serve as chairperson of the Site Selection Committee. This is a three-year commitment.
Vice-President: The Vice-President shall be the liaison between the Association and new members, coordinate the mentor relationship essential for new members, coordinate the development and annual revision of information for new financial aid administrators, perform all duties of the President in the absence of that officer, and succeed to the office of President in the event of a vacancy. This is a one-year term.
Secretary: The Secretary shall be the recorder of the Association and the custodian of its records and shall take, or arrange to have taken, and keep in permanent form the minutes of the Executive Board. The individual shall receive and file copies of the official annual membership list, the official list of the Executive Board members, the proceedings of each meeting of the Association, and all workshop projects, and committee reports. The Secretary shall keep a current file of all official documents and publications of the Association, transfer to the Archives annually all of the official documents and publications of the Association, keep a procedures manual as directed by the Association and/or Executive Board and prepare and distribute to the membership all proposed resolutions and amendments to the Constitution or Bylaws. This is a two year commitment.
Treasurer-Elect: The overall function of the Treasurer-Elect is to assist the Treasurer in all duties as outlined in the NCASFAA Policy and Procedures Manual. This will allow the individual to gain the experience needed to effectively hold the Office of Treasurer. The Treasurer-Elect is expected to be available to meet with the Treasurer, at his/her institution, in order to assist in conference and membership registrations, checking account reconciliations, and bank deposits. The frequency of these visits shall be determined by the Treasurer and Treasurer-Elect. The Treasurer-Elect shall have signatory authorization fo rany checking accounts, certificates of deposit, or other investments. Treasurer -Elect shall assist the Treasurer and Membership Chair with onsite conference registration during fall and spring conferences. If for any reason the Treasurer is unable to perform the duties of the elected position, the Treasurer-Elect shall assume the all duties and responsibilies of the office of Treasurer. This is a three year commitment.
Positions for the Nominating Committee: The Nominating Committee shall consist of a member representative of each recognized institutional type in the organization. Members are elected for a two year term on a rotating basis. Representatives from the four- year public insitutions, independent institutions, and agencies shall be elected in odd years. Representatives from two-year public and proprietary institutions shall be elected in even years.
This is a two year commitment.
